Cocina Calle is literally a dream come true. Zack traveled to El Salvador and fell in love with the cuisine. His dream came together quickly. Cocina Calle came to fruition after Zack’s trip to El Salvador.
We’re so excited to bring our flair of the traditional pupusa to the Richmond area!
Cocina Calle brings the flavors of El Salvador to the Richmond, Virginia area! Enjoy pupusas and yucca tots, as well as favorites like chips, salsa and queso.
All pupusas served with curtido and mild, medium or hot salsa.
Ever since he could see above the countertops at home with his Mother, Zack has always had an interest in food and cooking. A native to the Richmond, VA area, Zack grew up in Chesterfield County attending Midlothian High School. After high school, Zack moved to Charlotte, NC to attend Johnson & Wales University. At J & W, he studied culinary arts and baking & pastry, graduating with an AAS in Culinary Arts. Before leaving Johnson & Wales he landed a job with Dega Catering, which he still holds today.
He has traveled all over the US and Canada with Dega cooking for various acclaimed touring groups from Dave Matthews Band, Usher, Nitro Circus, Zac Brown Band, Bruno Mars, Shania Twain, to WWE and many others. He aspires now to bring great food to RVA and the surrounding areas.
